i don't think it's necessarily wrong to think of the modern as intrinsically linked towards an egalterian momentum, i would say that there's an ega tarian momentum. It depends all on how you define modernity. To be modern is the more modern we are, the more a control we're able to exert on our surroundings and a sforth,. And so one of the a axies on which i think it's indisputable that that net is modern is this idea of am -  the ability to exert unprecedented levels of control over our political projects.
