Antipater had made it clear to polipicon that even though antigonus, the one eyed, was theoretically a subordinate, it would be safer to just let him do as he wished. In macedonia, antigonus was the most powerful man standing. As long as he didn't mess with ptolemy, he could rule all asia. And if he played his cards well, probably soon macedonia too. He felt grand confident, and he decided to let eumenes come out of his little ice box and give him his province of cappadocia back.
