The Politics of Fermicus

Fermicus is trying to bring all the Egyptian and Babylonian and Greek astrological law into Roman readers. In that sense, what he's doing is a bit different from someone like Menelius, or even Ptolemy, who assumes some level of knowledge. Fermicus says if you're an educated Roman man, astrological knowledge is not some weird mystic thing from Egypt; it's part of philosophy. It's part of what you should know as an educated man.
