The Postmodern Western
I see McCarthy as carrying on the project of modernism. He seems to have learned all his lessons, post-millowal, and twain from Hemingway and Faulkner and T.S. Eliot. I haven't really heard it too many people try to describe it as a postmodern Western. It's like they'll describe something and be like, yeah, but that's in Don Quixote.
