In Matthew 11 Jesus says come to me ye who are weary and heavy laden I'll give you rest right after he says woe to you cities because God is going to burn you up into judgment. But now here in the service we have not been Beth Cyda we have not be Corazine we have actually come before God in repenting of our sins. If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us but if we confess our sins he's faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As Christians, we often struggle to view God as one who wants to meet us with words of comfort and good news. But understanding God’s heart towards sinners is not just a therapeutic exercise, it’s our only hope in the midst of our spiritual fatigue. In this episode, White Horse Inn hosts Michael Horton, Justin Holcomb, and Bob Hiller discuss the first of the Comfortable Words, Matthew 11:28, exposing our weariness and longing while exploring the rest that Christ offers.
