In theory, it has to be the case that taking n n n or n r is going to get more n a d and less loss. In fact, some giant proportion of our n n a d is being consumed by these engymes. And i think what we'll see is that, of the two, n m m probably does not get absorbed intact, while n r probably does. This was my rational for why i backed away from ribo flavin pfive phosphate supplements in episode 58. I don't believe everything about how niacen gets absorbed really makes sense.
