The Utility of Something Scales as Linear or Convex Curve?

There is this general question. Does the utility of something scale as linear or you have some kind of convex curve at levels of? And I think most of us have a situation that if the future contains 10 to 100 people, that's an astonishing number. Some of that is just that we can't naturally grasp its number scales. But there might also be some issue that maybe each person has a moral value, but a large conglomerate of people has a value that is not something linearly. So depending on your value theory, you might have an extremely different future.
