How to Use Percents in a Sentence

If there's no preposition or no object of the preposition after the word %, you've lost your clue. If the implied phrase is singular, use a singular verb and if it's plural, use a plural verb. The same rules i just told you apply when you're talking about a percentage of something - always singular. Stalgeds disagree about when you should use the word % or the symbol for the number.
