The Importance of Conforming to the Machine
Google engineer Blake Lemoine claimed that their language model, Lambda, was sentient. He got a lot of press when he went public with that claim and I think he was eventually let go by the company. It was an example to me of the way to which we have to conform to what the machine can do. And this is just a kind of historic pattern wherever we have introduced machines into human life.
