The Importance of the Priest in Israel

The Lord has put his name on Israel and how they behave will reflect something about God to the rest of the nations. The way that Israel is sanctified is not by kind of pulling up their own moral bootstraps, but they have to live in the presence of the Lord. In 24 verse 10 we see someone who doesn't sanctify the name of the Lord and does profane thename of the Lord; there are consequences for that.
