US officials who have been briefed on American intelligence, they suggested Russian General Sergei Sarovkin. US officials are trying to learn if Sarovkin can help plan the action. He has historically been seen as close to Pragosian. And he was partly the reason for him being sacked as the head of the whole operation in Ukraine in January when Shoyu and Gorasimov managed to stamp their authority.
