The Call of Levi in the Gospel of Mark

In the Gospel of Mark, Jesus has conversations with a group of Pharisees. They challenge his authority to forgive sins and who he chooses to spend time with. In doing so, we will be doing something that the Pharisees were unwilling to do: acknowledge our emptiness. This is the beautiful reality of this text and of the Gospel that in Christ we are full. And it is from this fullness in Christ we're freed to love God and neighbor.
