Prakatartha Vivaranana defines Adhyasa as a recurrence of something that you have seen earlier. So, if you just say Purvadrishta, Avavasa, what was seen earlier is now again being experienced. That's not superimposition. When the man makes a mistake about a snake in a rope, it's like memory. But when we are analyzing, the distance we are sitting quietly and analyzing, yes, it'slike memory because he recalled his old conditioning about the snake but it's not memory. It's not Adhyasa.
Adhyasa Bhashya is Adi Shankara’s introduction to the Brahma Sutras. Swami Sarvapriyananda gives a brief overview of this commentary, over three sessions.
