The History of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company
In the 1880s, American Bell created this new subsidiary that was devoted to these long lines and named it the American Telephone and Telegraph Company or AT&T. The company kept innovating and improving their service and developing new patents. They bought out competitors like they bought out Western Union in 1909. And AT&T would also build a beautiful new headquarters for itself at 195 Broadway at Fulton Street in the 19 teens.
