Gawaine is arthur's nephew, sitting next to guenevere. Gawaine now moves towards king arthur, and he says, ok, i stake my claim. The knighthood then unites, and each knight says the same,. Their king can stand aside and give gawaine the game. So sogawain steps up and says, look, this is it’s not appropriate for you, the king to do this. And if my proposal is improper, let no other person stand blame.
