The Insurrection of May 30, 1793

A lot was happening in the spring of 17 93, and none of it was good. The national convention decreed that levee of 300 thousand at the end of february 17 93. This troop levy was supposed to replenish the french armies who were shrinking daily from enlistment terms coming due and outright desertion. Mostly what the levy did though, was spark angry protests across france. Instead, it blossomed into a full scale armed revolt that history has dubbed the war in the vade.
