MTV's "Contraptionemaniacs" has been criticized for making contestants take a pregnancy test before they appear on the show. Contestants have also had to pass STD tests and get back-to-back doctor's notes, among other things. Hosts say MTV doesn't want any negative fallout if one person feels it is invasive or sexist.
