Xenophon's Life in Athens
Xenophon's exile was formally lifted at the Peace of Antaukatus in 386 BC. He didn't return to Athens as he preferred the delights of his new life at Skilos. Some speculate that he may have also spent some time back in Athens, which had joined Sparta in an anti-theban alliance. His son Grillis was killed fighting for the Athenian cavalry at the Battle of Mantania in 362 BC.
