The Creation Story in Genesis
The Anuma Elish has a decidedly jaundice story about the creation of humanity. Just the tiniest hint of the ancient fear of the sea remains in Genesis 1. The themes do reappear in the book of the prophet Isaiah in Psalms and in Job. Cultured mess of Italians saw their civilization as descending from a wild natural force that was changed into a civilizing order by Maduk.
