The Top Down Effects of Perception

Even in the primary visual cortex, there's still more top down input from other brain centres than there is input from the etinal structures themselves. And so what that implies is that even at the beginnings of perception, you know, if you think about it as being built up from perceptual elements up towards the whole gastalt. So t that's certainly right. We don't perceive the world as amu know, in a naive way. We come to the world with with our history, with our vast range of experience. In fact, often it's not very rereeling to find out what happens when you break it down. As we both know, people would rather deny obvious truths than
