The Importance of Indemnification
We're talking about QI or qualified immunity and also indemnification. The government has an interest in making sure that even the poorest among us who are harmed by the government have the right to redress that harm under that federal system. Even when they are successfully sued, it's not the police officer who pays. It's the taxpayer who pays.
