What Was VC Like in 2000?

In 2000, it was not uncommon for me to see a company and then issue a term sheet three months later. In 2021, if I had a company that exited for $200 million, I'd be like, oh, crap. And the expectations around outcomes have understandably and naturally changed. It's also changed because a lot of those deals that we're getting done were based on Excel spreadsheets.
