Dom Nichols: Does Russia need Armenia? No, sorry, does Armenia need to stay in the CSTO? It's got no land border with Russia so the big hole over these countries are. The Kremlin is just distracted and doesn't want to use the CSTR to do anything other than prop office when they look like they're under real revolutionary pressure. Turkey has really become a power player in the South Caucasus for years and especially since the war in Ukraine and it is backing as well as 100% and the Kremlin is very wary of that.
