Touching the Outside of a Plane

I was mildly surprised by how many other people do it It wasn't like super common. I wouldn't want it to become too much of a thing But I don't mind at the moment. Someone wrote something that helped me understand it about where this superstition could possibly come from Why would it start? Touching the outside of a plane felt like a special treat to them because they were interested in material science aspect of what the plane Was made of and also thinking about the extreme environment that was going to be Blasting past that part of the plane, you know in just half an hour's time. Getting to touch it felt like aspecial treat and I think maybe that's where it comes
