The Connections to the Old Testament
Pentecost started as a Jewish feast in the Old Testament that practicing Jews would still celebrate to this day. It's referred to as the Feast of Weeks and commemorates first fruits, anniversary of giving of law. Now in the new covenant Pentecost, we celebrate the Holy Spirit being poured out on the disciples like we just read.
