Will is more certain, would is either less certain or imaginary. If you want to ask someone politely, it's better to say, would you help me with this? It kind of is related to the imaginary situation because we're kind of imagining a situation where you would help me. Could is a little bit simpler and could is the past tense of can. As a child, I could swim two miles so a few kilometers. Now, I can only swim 10 meters. So these are examples of conditional sentences.
