The Azigis' Revolt
By 175, the Quadai were ready to settle, convinced now more than ever that battling the favored by the gods' Romans was pointless. The Azigis held out for a little while longer, but finding themselves isolated, further hostilities seemed pointless. They sent envoys to Marcus requesting terms, but the Emperor held to his genocidal line and refused to negotiate surrender. But just as the Romans had been delivered by a sudden twist of fate, so too were the Azigis. Next week, we'll follow Marcus East as he attempts to quell the totally unexpected Eastern revolt.
