The Calibration of Consumer Spending
If you look at real consumer spending, that's the kind of the all-shooting match. Consumers have been using drawing down their excess savings over the past year just to supplement their purchasing power. So why didn't consumers spend even more? I think there's still a lot of uncertainty, right? That would cause them to calibrate a bit more.
