Speaker 2
It's not fun. It's just not good for you. Yeah. So I got to do something. Are you do and then supplements? You don't need supplements?
Speaker 1
Well, I mean, it's not about electrolytes, not really. I mean, I don't really, you know, see a real need for it at this point. Yeah. What about beef organs or I guess, I don't know, I don't, you know, I found you it's interesting with the organs because a lot of people will say, you know, the organs are essential. And, you know, when I first ran into the crazy people doing this, I asked them about that. And they said, you know, no, it's, it's not written. It's not something that we found to be necessary. And these are people that were doing the diet 10 years, 15 years, 20 years. So there were all these already, these people doing this. And so I did a survey of 12,000 people on the diet back about three, four years ago. And I specifically asked, you know, organs, organ supplements, things like that. And the outcomes were really no different. So there was no like, clear difference. And then Harvard, when they did their study on this diet, which was done in 2021, David Leggs, Blindelenerts, they asked that question as well. Because I asked him to, I said, hey, make sure you ask this question. And they found the same thing. They found that there was no difference in whether or not you were diabetic and not diabetic, whether you lost weight, if you included supplements from that, there are no signs of clinical deficiencies. You know, I mean, again, that's not a survey is maybe not a high level study, but it gives you some general guidelines. So I tell people, you know, it's fine to find a take them if you want them. You know, if you enjoy them, I don't particularly enjoy them. I don't find them to be particularly, you know, tasty. And I, you know, I feel that if I'm going to eat something, I need to like it. Yeah, that just makes sense. And there are people that clearly will tell me, though, however, that eating an organ helps them feel better for a period of time. And I think that might be, it might be that people are particularly depleted of nutrition, right? In the early on, coming from a standard American junk food diet or perhaps a plant-based diet where they're low on nutrition and the organs sort of are a faster way to kind of refill the tank, so to speak.
Speaker 2
Yeah, I've found that they're, well, they're difficult to procure, difficult to prepare, difficult to prepare in a way that tastes good. But I do feel, I mean, maybe it's just placebo effect, but I feel good when I eat them, especially liver. I found that to, I don't know, give me an extra jolt. Yeah, I hear people saying that for sure. And I've done, you know, I've done my experiments with liver and I did really, I mean, one, I don't like it, so maybe I'm biased, but
Speaker 1
I didn't really notice anything significant to me. And I've had it prepared by high-level chefs. Yeah. You know, it's just like, yeah, I'd say the best I can say is that wasn't disgusting.
Speaker 2
Yeah. It's like, yeah. Definitely has a very unique flavor, that's for sure. I've ended up with a Paul's company, Heart and Soil, just taking the caps. And anecdotally, it seemed to improve things for me. I don't know, you know, you're doing so many things that wanted to tell. Yeah,
Speaker 1
I mean, it's, you know, with any supplement, I tell people, I said, you know, look, if there's a significant objective, reproducible benefit, then yeah, maybe, you know, like with a diet, yeah, I think with a diet, you had a clear objective, significant benefit, and you're like, that really made a difference, you know. And if I don't get that, I'm like, why am I paying money for this stuff? I mean,
Speaker 2
it's just, that's all good things. Yeah, it's hard to tell. Because again, like there's times where I travel and I forget, so I have didn't pack enough heart and sore supplements for the trip. And then I don't have them for a few days. I kind of feel different. But yeah, it's hard to tell. But I,
Speaker 1
it's one of those things. It's like, why not? It can't hurt almost. And so I do, I do
Speaker 2
enjoy them a lot.
