The Government's Proposal for a Rental Cap
There's obviously a rental crisis happening across the country at the moment. In South East Queensland, rents have gone up an average of 13%. 51% in Nusa, 33% on the Gold Coast and 80% in Gladstone over the last five years. The government wants to address the possibility of implementing a rental cap. They're proposing a 2% rental cap freeze. On a $500 per week rent, they're saying annually, you can increase that by 2%. That's an example, $10. It's not good for anyone if you're doing things on the line.
