Paul Foote's Award for Investigative Journalism
Paul Foote was a great campaigning and investigative journalism. The reason we set up the award was that Paul was not only a brilliant writer, but he inspired other people to take it up. We thought, we must keep this going. He wrote well, he made journalism interesting, and he was funny,. And he made you think this is a business worth doing. David looked into firms that had a very, very small turnover, pre-COVID, and a very,very small profit margin. Two years later they're handing hundreds of millions of pounds, and suddenly there's 30 million pound profit.
