Should an Investor Buy Longer Term Bonds?
The only reason to own longer term bonds and say a 10 year government bond is if the investors believes interest rates will fall. I'm less comfortable doing that because of the third element that contributes to interest rates. Investors are highly confident in the central bank and their view of an investor's view of where future inflation will be.
