Introduction

Hogan's Alley was an ethnically diverse but predominantly black neighborhood in Vancouver. It was demolished in the 1970s for the Georgia viaduct to be built. In 2015, the city of Vancouver announced its plan to remove the viaduct as the Hogan's Alley Society seeks to work with local government and business on a community land trust. Joining us is Stephanie Allen, a housing development specialist working in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
