Our capacity for normal ation is so large. And it is especially large in wealthy parts of the world by privileged people like you and me. You cannot just look away from 500 thousand people on the brink of starvation in madagascar and just be like, that's some backward corner of the world. I think i have a pretty good sense oflike what the global temperature is goin to look like. But Like, does newyork city have a sea wall? I don't know. It's really hard to project the future. We tell ourselves we can. But like, what's the world going to be like in 20 80?
