Gorgias and the Non-Existant

Gorgias argued that persuasive words have dunamis or power equivalent to that of the gods and is as strong as a physical force. He also wrote a philosophical treatise entitled On the Non-Existant, also called On Not Being. The original text has been lost and we only know about his arguments from two later commentaries by Sextus Empiricus,. Gorgias placed more prominence upon Rhetoric than any other sophist.
