I think collectively the left has been largely hostile or ambivalent to psychoanalysis. There is another kind of secret history around people using psychoanalysis for their own treatment and their own well-being. And so you can actually see the trajectory of psychoanalysis coming out of some of the political conflicts of the second international turned into this access through the work of Otto Finishel.
