i've been hearing from gulf governments as early as a year ago, doubts about american commitment to helping them address what they view as widespread iranian aggression across the region. And therefore increasing interest on the part of gulf governments in some form of diplomatic exit ramp, if they could find one. For me, you know, i think that search for diplomacy began when trump first announced his intention to withdraw American forces from syria,. which was in december of 20 18 and i think that that sense has only ascalated.
