I think marduk is really the real identity of yaway. The original awe was sort of this desert demon or angel. He was vampiric, but he was nurturing. And then slowly, the priests kind of brought in marduk as marduk represented civilization. To have a civilization, you have to subjugate nature and marginalize women. That's just the way it is.
