The Goat
The painted animals were too realistic, i decided suddenly. They should have been more cartoonish. The boy who had chosen the goat at our school had been called miguel. My most vivid memory f him was of the last time he was in class with us. Peter, the boy who had taken the wolf from me, was leaning over miguel's desk and chanting an old playground song. It was the one that the girls always sang when they jumped rope. O goats no good. Wouldn't grow a brain even if he could. Doesn't do the things that an animal should. Screams all day, ande buk all night. Better watch out for his over bite.
