In high school with photography, I started taking film classes and we learned how to process everything. But my sister was a photographer, so I never really wanted to be like, "Oh, yeah, I'm a photographer too" Back then software costs were really prohibitive; you had to do whatever you needed to do to get a hold of those software. People ended up pirating most of that stuff and it became the norm.
