Ecuador Set Pieces - Is That a Good Idea?

Ecuador have a horseshoe shape round the back for their set pieces. It was unusual to see Qatar defending such a deep free kick. They split their defenders into different sides so they didn't know which way it would go. Ecuador's style is quite clever and I wonder if other teams will start doing it too.
