Aristotle's Prime Mover Argument in the Physics
Aquinas was influenced by Aristotle's prime mover argument in his work The Physics. But Aquinas' definition of motion is broad enough that it allows for the possibility to account for even non-physical changes, he says. In this example we have a mover virtually in act. It has the relevant actuality that gives it the power to actualize that effect.
