Alternatives to Box
Our box plants are being threatened by both box blight and also by box tree caterpillar. So we're looking for sustainable alternatives to box. Ideally they're going to have similar qualities to box. Box tolerates a really wide range of soil conditions so it can deal with improved clay soils. It's very adaptable and temperature wise it's happy in a very wide range of temperatures as well. The other thing that I'd really like to point out is that box isn't finished there's some really interesting research into cultivars that are more resistant to box blight.
