When we wrote good times in America at the time we were in the midst of the greatest financial recession since the Great Depression. We had gas rationing. The lyrics to good times were sort of ripped off from Al Jolson and the song that they used to sing after prohibition when they were happy day long. Good times came out editing because the disco sucks movement had come that had the riot in Chicago.
