California Is a Weird Place

As an American, you are not just politically free, but in some kind of metaphysical sense. And it relates to our status markers. No one thinks you're bad or weird because you moved around a lot. It could even be a mark of high status. But if you look say it, hippie culture in San Francisco and how it turns into tech culture, that's a remarkable story. A lot of it comes because America is pretty weird.
