Is Money a Fundamental Property?

The privacy debate is basically it's hugely important. I mean, isn't the better protocol, the one where every unit equals every other unit? Is not a fundamental property? No, but that's a very complex other debate because we're used to thinking about money in forms that we know right now. But if you go back and Amsterdam history, you would have the Flemish pound and the F Belgian pound wasn't in existence. So there are many ways and mechanisms for making payments without needing a one-on-one reserve function. That's really a different, very philosophical debate on the essence of money.
