First Energy's Bailout of the Pleasant Station

The Pleasant Station in West Virginia is scheduled to close this June. First energy, the company that owns the plant, has been bailed out twice in the past four years. Governor Jim Justice and a handful of legislators are intent on keeping the plant open. Will they face any voter backlash for continuing to burden them with even more uneconomic coal assets?
