Jasper is expertly played by Michael Caine. He reminds me of somebody who maybe was involved in leftist movements and just stopped caring at a certain point. As a Marxist I take up this kind of philosophical grounding of dialectical materialism. The idea that there's a dichotomy between faith and chance is not useful for how I conceive of like changing the world.
