The problem is if you freeze avocado because there's so much water content, the crystals will destroy the texture. You definitely want to get the skin off and get the pit out. If it's a couple of days, actually I would just put it in the coldest part of your refrigerator for a few days. They do continue to ripen in the fridge and it will slow them down significantly.
