The Different Types of Beauty
Scrudden says that judgments of beauty purport to be about the object in question and not a mental state or an experience. When I say something's beautiful, what I mean is that I'm talking about a property that belongs to the thing and not my experience of it in this moment. But that makes it sound like we're dividing beauty into different things because we're not actually talking about the things at all.
